Food (Fish) Quality Control at Kinyerezi site

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent: This is the minimum requirement for entry-level roles, often with a focus on fishery science or related courses.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree: A degree in food science, biology, biochemistry, quality control, or a related engineering discipline is highly beneficial but not required for this position.

Experience

• Seafood or food industry experience: Many positions require a minimum of two to three years of experience in a fish processing plant or a related quality assurance role.
• Quality inspection or assurance experience:Experience in quality control or quality assurance is often a key requirement. 

Certifications

• HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification: This is a critical and frequently required qualification for food safety.
• Other certifications: Certifications like ISO(International Organization for Standardization) or BRC (British Retail Consortium) are highly valuable. 

Skills and knowledge

• Technical skills:
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and seafood processing standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and computer software.
  • Ability to apply inspection techniques and interpret technical documents.
• Soft skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including report writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to quality.
