Packaging Associates
Core responsibilities
- Packing: Securely wrapping, boxing, and sealing products for shipment, often using specific packaging materials and tools.
- Labeling and Documentation: Accurately applying shipping labels, barcodes, and product information, and documenting all shipments by filling out forms and updating inventory systems.
- Quality Control: Inspecting products for defects before they are packed and ensuring the final package meets all quality standards before it is shipped.
- Inventory and Stock: Processing, packing, and shipping orders, as well as restocking supplies and performing general inventory maintenance.
- Workstation Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized, properly disposing of waste, and performing basic maintenance on packaging equipment.
Required skills and abilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in packaging, labeling, and record-keeping.
- Physical ability to lift and move items and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to report issues and work with other team members.
- Basic hand-eye coordination and familiarity with basic hand tools.
Work environment
- Typically works in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Requires ability to stand for long periods and work on hard or uneven surfaces.
- May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
